The first four boats of the Ohio class have completed their SSGN conversions.
The Virginia class boats are the newest class of submarines for the U.S. Navy. The Virginia, the Texas, Hawaii, and North Carolina, New Mexico, and Missouri are all in active service. As of early 2011[update], the California is finishing sea trials and expected to be delivered in 2011. The Mississippi, Minnesota, North Dakota, and John Warner are all currently under construction.
The oldest American nuclear submarine still in service is the USS Los Angeles.
